Course Description:
Throughout the 1980s, LAN technology and its implementation grew at a phenomenal rate. By the 1990s, the ability to inter-network LANs via the wide area was limited to relatively slow speed and inefficient mechanisms. The need to inter-network LANs at higher speeds using more effective communication methods led to the development of frame relay.
Today, frame relay is extremely well established as a data networking protocol being supported by most service providers and equipment vendors. Frame relays high performance and flexible frame size are ideal for the bursty nature of most LAN traffic and is todays preferred method for wide area LAN internetworking.
This Hands-On course is designed to provide an in depth practical as well as theoretical understanding of Frame Relay technology and applications through a combination of lecture and hands-on learning experiences. Throughout class the lecture material is brought to life and reinforced through hands-on labs utilizing state of the art Frame Relay switches, products and test equipment.
After completion of this intensive training program the student will have the knowledge and practical understanding necessary to successfully design, implement, troubleshoot and maintain a Frame Relay network.
