Course Description:
This Hands-On Fiber Optic Training and Certification course has been designed to the specifications, applications and specific GITMO site equipment and tools.

This course will provide 2-days of Hands-On Fiber Optic training and 1-day of Exam-Prep and BTS Certified Instructor will Administer the Fiber Certification Exam On-Site Testing.

This training has been customized using site-specific equipment for Installing, testing and troubleshooting specific Fiber Loose Buffer 12-288 SingleMode shielded cable and ST connectors for GITMO fiber based applications. BTS will incorporate on-site gearU using 2x Fujikaura splicers (17s), Sicore MultiTester OTDR, Noyes OTDR, Noyes PowerMeterLightSource, UniCams, 3MHotMelt ovens, and 3M FiberLoks for mechanical splicing.

The focus on this training will prepare and give students the Hands-On ability to support GITMO specific applications that BTS staff have personally reviewed during our last visit to GITMO on Jul 19 - Jul 20, 2010.

This will also cover "The Fence" GITMO Fence Line Security Communications. Providing training to cover Security system communications, Camera cabling, connections, troubleshooting, etc. This will cover facets of Fiber CutOvers and Fiber Emergency Restorations for Fiber Communication Protection.

This course will end with our Instructor Administering the Fiber Optic Certification Exam On-Site at the end of this training.
