Hands-On Telephony Maintenance

Course Description

This Hands-On course covers an in depth knowledge of telephony maintenance and related diagnostic equipment used in Telephony Maintenance. Attendees will be able to understand and have the Hands-On skill sets to maintain and support Telephony equipment and maintenance applications in today's environments.

Students Will Learn

General safety precautions and personal protective equipment requirements.
Define basic telephony terms.
Explain POTS and PBX ring circuits.
Identify various power supplies.
Identify wiring and termination types.
Demonstrate block wiring and terminations.
Demonstrate system, cable, VF, and T1 testing.
Demonstrate proper use of test sets for continuity (DMM,TDR), TIMS (Firebird 4000, T1, (Firebird 4000), LAN (Fluke), Oscilloscopes (Tektronix) and Incorporate any equipment brought to the training.
